13 Michigan high schools receive scholarships
from SET SEG Educational Foundation
High school students from 13 public school districts will send students to the 2010 Michigan Association of Student Councils/Michigan Association of Honor Societies Summer Leadership Camp at Albion College. The Foundation awarded a total of $9,400 in scholarship funds, with the amounts awarded determined by the number of students who will attend the camp. The maximum award per high school was $1,250. The cost to attend the Leadership Camp is $400 per person. Some high schools are using the scholarship dollars to supplement student contributions to the enrollment fee, while many are relying on the scholarship to pay the entire registration fee for students who otherwise would not be able to attend.
Congratulations to our 2010 scholarship recipients!

The winning high schools were chosen from a competitive field of applicants. The application process required a joint letter of recommendation from the high school principal and a student council or honor society adviser. Formed in 2005, this is the Foundation’s fourth consecutive year of awarding scholarships.
Students participating in the Summer Leadership Camp, July 25-30, will learn life-changing leadership skills that will aid them in their academic pursuits and future endeavors. At the camp, students will attend sessions addressing leadership styles, communication, organizational skills, public speaking, team building and project planning. Participants will gain practical leadership experience working on committees and in councils. They will also benefit from a unique opportunity to interact with students from various schools in Michigan.
