Video explains cost benefits of Health Savings Accounts - Friday, April 09, 2010SET Employee Benefits, the pioneer in placing high-deductible health plans (HDHP) with health savings accounts (HSA) in public schools in Michigan, has released an animated video explaining why these plans are cost-effective for employers and employees.
As school districts place hard caps on their contributions to health insurance premiums, employees are faced with paying hundreds of dollars monthly for health care expenses. Because HDHP/HSA plans cost less, premiums for these plans generally fall at or beneath the insurance cap. Instead of paying premiums to an insurance company, employes with HDHP/HSA plans can contribute their dollars to their own health savings accounts. HSA dollars are used to pay the deductible expenses that may apply, or are retained to pay for health care costs in future years.
This entertaining and educational video will help any employee choose from a cafeteria plan of benefits that include the option of paying health premiums or selecting a HDHP/HSA plan.
SET Employee Benefits provides medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability programs to the school marketplace.
