 Property/Casualty Pool declares $6 million surplus Minimize

The MASB-SEG Property/Casualty Pool Board of Directors has declared a surplus distribution of $6 million for the coverage year beginning July 1, 2008. Eligible members of the Property/Casualty Pool will receive their share of the surplus 30 days after renewing their coverage and submitting their premium contribution. Each member's share of the premium is determined by their claim experience in the years from which the surplus is generated, by and their longevity in the Pool. Members who joined the Pool prior to June 30, 2006, will be eligible to participate in the surplus distribution, provided they renew their coverage for 2008-2009 and remit their premium contribution. Since the Pool began returning surplus to its members in 1991, they have shared in $90 million of returns. The 2008-2009 surplus distribution is the largest since the year 2000.
