SET SEG has partnered with the nation’s foremost provider of school-specific online employee safety and compliance training, SafeSchools, to give its Property/Casualty Pool and Workers' Compensation Fund members the employee training solutions they need and want, at no cost to them! The SafeSchools program is easy to administer, and it is available immediately. Districts that are members of both the Pool and the Fund have access to every training course offered by SafeSchools. Those that are members of the Pool, but are not members of the Fund, are able to enroll employees in SafeSchools online courses relevant to property and liability training. Those that have placed their Workers' Compensation coverage with the Fund, but do not have their property and liability coverage through the Pool, have access to employee safety-related training courses offered by SafeSchools.
More than 1,000 school systems nationally now use the SafeSchools web-based training programs. Employees receive around-the-clock, fingertip access to programs that will satisfy state and federally mandated training, and produce for district administration the necessary records to prove who has taken which courses, and when. SET SEG's risk control consultants have developed a list of basic courses recommended for our membership. Schools have been notified of the recommended curriculum, which is also accessible here. These courses are designed to address areas of high risk for students and employees. By enrolling employees in these basic courses, members will be creating safer environments for all their constituents, while helping reduce the cost of claims. Lower claims costs help us reduce expenses and save members' premium expense.
The SafeSchools program is endorsed by MSBO, MASB and MASA. Only the highest quality programs earn the endorsement of these key education associations. School districts that are not participating in our insurance programs are able to purchase access to SafeSchools training solutions through MSBO for a fee of $5 per employee, per year. They may also purchase access to courses that are not available to them due to their participation in only one of our insurance programs. We are proud to sponsor this risk management training for our members. It is another value-added benefit of participating in our member-owned and member-operated risk-sharing pools.
